With Jenny Robinson
Sunday 4th -Thursday 8th February 2024. Cost: AUD $1,350
See Terms and Conditions below.
This workshop focuses on a completely non-toxic, low-cost, low-tech approach to making your own Drypoint plates. You will learn the method developed by Jenny Robinson that will enable you to create intricate images that closely emulate traditional etching in a fraction of the time and without the use of expensive, toxic materials, such as acids and rosins.
Through a series of detailed demonstrations, you will learn how to make your own drypoint plates, explore mark making techniques using a wide range of tools and textures, and develop wiping techniques to create tone and atmosphere. You will be given two cardboard plates to work on to make one larger image which we will then print on the large press.
This workshop is limited to 5 participants to ensure that all artists get the most intensive experience from this masterclass, with time and space to develop a small varied edition of large drypoint prints.

Irena Conomos and Gary Shinfield are holding a second workshop in the Blue Mountains, from Tuesday 16th to Friday the 19th of January. This workshop will be similar to the first.
The basis of this workshop is an immersive experience responding to the environment, climatic conditions and nature in all its manifestations. Your work will be shaped by these experiences and any changes as they unfold.
From this exploration you will work independently developing your own ideas over the period of the workshop, working with two artists with many years experience in their respective fields of printmaking and photography.
