Group exhibition by nationally and internationally acclaimed members of the Sydney Printmakers’ collective.


Sydney Printmakers explore all traditional and contemporary forms of printmaking and have built up a reputation for excellence in the field. The collective aims to develop a dialogue between their practices and the wider audience by promoting the diversity of printmaking as a versatile, adaptive and engaging medium.

Why not give it a go?

Sydney Printmakers is a self-funded and self-directed association, the organisational strength and relevance of which depends on the engagement and contribution of time and energy by its members. Members are expected to attend quarterly meetings and contribute to the running of the organisation and will be given tasks from time to time.

Deadline for applications: 1st August 2023

You will need to submit:

  • 200 words on why you would like to join our association.
  • 200 words about your work and your professional practice.
  • 200 words on what contribution or special skills could you could offer for the running and growth of our association.
  • CV of up to two pages.
  • 5 low resolution images, no larger than 1 MB each.
  • Website and Instagram details.

Sydney Printmakers, a prestigious association capped at 60 members, is dedicated to the professional development of its members and the promotion and education of printmaking. Our primary focus is securing exhibition opportunities and organizing member exhibitions.

Expectations and Application Requirements:

  • Active Engagement: Attend quarterly meetings and contribute to organizational tasks.
  • Deadline: August 1, 2023.
  • Submission Materials:
  • 200 words on your interest in joining.
  • 200 words describing your work and professional practice.
  • 200 words on your potential contributions.
  • CV (up to two pages).
  • Five low-resolution images (max 1 MB each).
  • Website and Instagram details.

CONTEMPLATING GRACE is a creative response by Sydney Printmakers to the art and life of the iconic Australian artist, Grace Cossington Smith. During its sixty years, Sydney Printmakers has encouraged exploration of innovative and traditional techniques by its members which is analogous with the forward thinking Grace Cossington Smith who is celebrated in this exhibition.

Finalists for North Sydney Art Prize

A number of members have been selected for the North Sydney Art Prize.

Gary Shinfield, Seong Cho, Lea Kannar-Lichtenberger, and Laura Stark have been accepted together with Anthea Boesenberg and Anna Russell (and non member Rhonda Nelson) in a collaborative work.
