DJUMBUNJI PRESS WORKSHOP WITH ELIZABETH HUNTER

Date: Monday 24 September – 5 October 2012 (Monday – Friday = 10 days in total)

Time: 9 am to 4 pm each day, with a 1 hour lunch break (catered lunches)

Where: Djumbunji Press, 55-65 Greenslopes Street, Edge Hill, Cairns QLD

Number of participants: 10

Cost: $132 per day: $1320 over 10 days

Materials: Basic materials supplied, plates, paper, and extra ink can be purchased from the studio via materials cards (available as $25.00 or $50.00 cards)

Djumbunji Press Senior Printmaker Elizabeth Hunter has studied and taught in Australia and overseas. She obtained her BA at City Art Institute, Sydney, Australia; Attestato di Qualifica Professionale, Incisione, Regione Toscana, Italia; and MA at Surrey University, London. Previous positions include appointments in organisations such as; Studio Art Centres International (SACI) Florence Italy, Emily Carr College of Art and Design Florence Italy, Rebis Press Professional Print Studio and Gallery Chianti Italy and Meadowbank, Hornsby & St George TAFE Institutions Sydney. She has exhibited in Australia, Italy, England, the Czech Republic, Germany, Japan, India and the USA.Djumbunji Press opened in March 2009, The air-conditioned studio is set in a spacious open area on Greenslopes Street in the tropical cultural precinct of NorthCairns, opposite Centenary Lakes and the Cairns Botanical Gardens. The facilities include: A large Mitomel Press, an MES HD etching press; an NW small etching press; a Manuka small etching press; a Takach-Garfield Lithography Press (manual); 2 drying racks; an exhaust vent clean-up solvent room; and a process room with vapor hood for nitric acid.
