Australian Parliament House Artist-in-Residence Program

The Parliament House Artist-in-Residence program is expected to run once every 3 years, coinciding with each Parliamentary term.

The successful artist or group will receive a range of benefits including:

• recognition as Australian Parliament House Artist-in-Residence for the 48th Parliament
• an artist fee for the research phase of $10,000
• an additional commission fee for new work of up to $30,000
• up to 12 months’ access to Parliament House including the Parliamentary Library and Parliament House Art Collections
• travel and accommodation financial assistance.

This is a rare opportunity to spend time behind-the-scenes at Australian Parliament House developing your practice and creating artwork that presents a fresh perspective on the architecture, landscape, role and history of Parliament House.

Applications are open from Tuesday 5 May 2026 until Tuesday 16 June 2026 11am AEST.

Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery is currently seeking Expressions of Interest for the 2024 Artist-in-Residence program, at Police Point Shire Park. ⁠⁠The AiR program is open to visual artists, writers, curators, musicians and researchers to undertake a 2- to 6-week residency to engage with the site and the natural and human history of the area. Through the program, MPRG and the Mornington Peninsula Shire aim to support, exhibit and promote ambitious work.⁠⁠The program aims to be a catalyst for immersion, experimentation, connection, collaboration and discourse between participants and with the public. It is an opportunity to widen and strengthen Mornington Peninsula arts communities, support career development of local and emerging artists, and connect Peninsula communities to artists from further afield.⁠⁠Who should apply:⁠We welcome expressions from emerging, mid-career and established artists, based locally, interstate and internationally, in all visual art forms, as well as performance, dance, music, public art, film/video, literature, scientific and/or social research, interdisciplinary arts, architecture and new media. First Nations, LGBTIQA+, culturally and linguistically diverse and artists with disability are encouraged to apply.

Artists Residency at Megalo Print Studio 2024

Applications are now open for Megalo’s 2024 Artist in Residence program.  

The annual residency program gives artists at all stages of their career access to our facilities and equipment, to make new work or experiment with ideas in the Megalo studios. Megalo is now calling for applications for 2024 residencies to artists currently resident in Australia, including one residency for artists of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent. One international residency will also be offered to an artist outside Australia.   

Applications close 31 August.
