Lois Waters was the overall winner of the Burnie Print Prize with her work Pleat 4.
The hand printed book in a purple solander box with 24 images is a play on the concept of Jutaku or Tiny Houses in Japan. Congratulations, Roz.
Gary is a finalist in the KAAF Art Prize 2024 currently showing in the Korean Cultural Centre Gallery, 255 Elizabeth Street, Sydney (opposite Hyde Park south), 22.11.24 – 17.01.25.
This work was made from pieces of wood found in the bush near Hill End NSW, and the carvings done on site are based on discarded bits of mining equipment.
Congratulations to Nathalie Hartog-Gautier, Roslyn Kean, Carolyn Mackenzie Craig and Gary Shinfield, who have been selected as finalists for this prize.
Anthea Boesenberg and Carolyn Craig have been selected as finalists from a large field of entrants.
Both Carolyn Craig and Roslyn Kean have been selected as finalists in the 2024 Ravenswood Women’s Art Prize.
In addition, Roz’s image is reproduced in an article about the Mokuhanga conference in the latest issue of Printmaking Today. Roz is currently in Japan for the conference, along with Susan Rushforth and Neil Clarke.
