About the award

An artist’s book is a medium of artistic expression that uses the form or function of a ‘book’ as inspiration.

Every two years the Northern Beaches Library Service holds an Artists’ Book Award attracting entries from around the world. Books are selected from the entries to form an exhibition. From the exhibited books, judges then select books to be acquired and added to the 100 plus artist books the Northern Beaches Library Service holds in their collection. This collection is unique to our community and public library service.

It’s time to consider entering the Artists’ Book Award held by Northern Beaches Council and Manly Art Gallery and Museum. There is plenty of time to prepare your entry.

Environmental art prize with global impact

Calling all artists and designers: this national art prize is looking for innovative ideas for the future.

The Environmental Art & Design Prize is open to painting, photography, digital media, ceramics, functional and textile design and more, and is an annual non acquisitive award with nine categories and a prize pool over $40,000.

The prize’s exhibition of finalist artworks is presented by Manly Art Gallery & Museum, and it is again calling for entries.

KEY DATES:

2022 Prize entries open March 15 – May 11 2022.

Exhibition of finalist work 5-28 August 2022.

The exhibition of finalist works will be displayed at Manly Art Gallery & Museum, Curl Curl Creative Space and Mona Vale Pop Up Gallery in August 2022.

Artists and designers across the country are now welcome to submit entries.

Please read the Terms and Conditions of Entry before commencing your entry form.

Closes at 5pm, Wednesday 11 May 2022.
