Residential Fellowship for First Nations Australian Curator 2023-24 Academic Year
In partnership with the Australia Council, the Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection of the University of Virginia seeks applications for a new program intended to increase First Nations participation in the Museum’s exhibitions and program. Kluge-Ruhe is the only museum dedicated to First Nations Australian art in the USA.
ABOUT
- This opportunity is a residential fellowship in Charlottesville, Virginia, USA.
- It is divided into two residential periods (August – December 2023; February – March 2024) with a holiday break in December – January.
- The primary responsibility is to curate an exhibition of 60-70 limited edition prints by First Nations Australian artists drawn from the Basil Hall Collection at Kluge-Ruhe.
- The fellow will work collaboratively with Kluge-Ruhe’s staff on all aspects of the exhibition and associated programs.
- A stipend of up to $60,000 AUD will be paid to the fellow. Travel, accommodation, vehicle rental, medical insurance and a research and travel budget of up to $5,000 AUD for professional development are also provided.
