Ravenswood Womens Art Prize is Open

Entries for Ravenswood Australian Womens Art Prize is now open

Key dates

Entries close: 11 February 2026

Finalists announced: 1 April 2026

Exhibition of Finalists: 16 to 31 May 2026

There are three prize categories:

the Professional Artist Prize of $35,000 (acquisitive)

the Emerging Artist Prize of $7,500 (supported by The Reed Family Foundation)

the Indigenous Emerging Artist Prize of $7,500 (supported by the Guardian and Scarborough Foundation)

People’s Choice Award of $2,000 (supported by Edwina Palmer) plus a $500 Derivan art pack

six Highly Commended Awards (two for each category) of $1,000 each (supported by Community Bank Lindfield) will also be awarded

Entries Open for the 69th Blake Prize

The Blake Prize is a prestigious national award celebrating contemporary art that fearlessly explores spirituality, faith and the big questions of human existence.
 
Together with traditional mediums such as painting and sculpture, the Blake Prize also embraces new and experimental forms of video, sound, installation, photography and digital media to explore complex ideas.
 
Liverpool Powerhouse (formerly Casula Powerhouse) has been home to the Blake Prize since 2016. We are ideally positioned within a community of people from over 150 birthplaces, speaking more than 140 languages, and representing an equally diverse range of faith backgrounds.

Proofs and Processes:The Kenneth E Tyler Collection, NGA Canberra

Proofs and Processes exhibition at the National Gallery of Australia Canberra, features works on paper by six icons of Abstraction and Pop art. Helen Frankenthaler, Roy Liechtenstein, Joan Mitchell, Robert Motherwell, James Rosenquist and Frank Stella worked with the Tyler Graphics print workshop from 1986-2001 at the mount Kisco premises in New York State.

HELEN FRANKENTHALER Matrices for Madam Butterfly 2000, woodblocks with ink. Frankenthaler produced a preliminary painting on a wood panel. Yasuyuki Shibata (born 1968 Japan, USA since 1991)traced its mark and divided them into separate printing layers. He then carved 46 woodblocks using a variety of woods. Each woodblock was hand-printed with coloured pigment, and repeated 58 times for each print.

Megalo Artist Print Residence 2026

Megalo’s artist-in-residence program is the only printmaking residency of its kind in Australia. Through an annual callout, this program gives artists a unique opportunity to access Megalo Print Studio – Australia’s largest printmaking studio – to experiment with ideas and make new work.

The Artist in Residence program gives time and space for artists to work in the Megalo studio environment, free from any specified outcomes.

About the Residency Program

Megalo’s residency program is a supported opportunity open to artists at all stages of their careers. We aim to support the making of new work that meets Megalo’s objectives of excellence and innovation in printmaking.

The selected artists will receive an artist stipend, materials allowance, and full access to Megalo’s comprehensive professional printmaking facilities.

Artists from outside the Kamberri (Canberra) region will also receive shared accommodation at Cargill’s Cottage.

Amongst the 61 finalists for the Crescendo25 Artist Book Award were three Sydney Printmakers: Danielle Creenaune, Roz Kean and Ro Murray.

The curatorial team consists of Liz Jeneid, JudyBourke, Lucia Parrella and Kathryn Orton.

Now in its third edition, Wama’s biennial art prize has established itself as Australia’s leading award dedicated to environmental art, recognising artists deeply engaged with the natural world.

The Wama Art Prize finalists will be exhibited at the newly open National Centre for Environmental Art near Halls Gap, Victoria.
